Pianist Thomas Sauer performs J.S. Bach’s “Goldberg” Variations

J.S. Bach composed his “Goldberg” Variations in 1741. Known for over two centuries primarily by musicians, the work came to international prominence following the release in 1955 of pianist Glenn Gould’s brilliant recording. Pianists and audiences alike have been fascinated with Bach’s Aria with Thirty Variations ever since. Chamber Music Quad Cities’ Co-Director Thomas Sauer will precede his performance of this masterpiece with a short description of its essential attributes.
